Lakeview Public Schools is seeking interested, qualified applicants for the position of Board Trustee as a result of the resignation of Mr. James Kouri. Mr. Kouri’s vacant term would have ended December 31, 2024. According to State of Michigan election law, and Board By-Laws, the remaining Board Members must fill the open seat within 30 days through an application, potential interview, and voted appointment process (all of which must be conducted in a public meeting). According to State law, a person appointed to fill the position would be seated through December 31, 2022. A partial term is available from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024 with proper application through the St. Clair Shores City Clerk’s office by July 26, 2022. A newly elected Board Member would then fulfill the rest of the vacant term from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024.
